Aloha Has No Borders!

The majority of the residential debris removal is done, but only half of the commercial debris removal is completed. The focus now shifts to rebuilding infrastructure, but logistical challenges continue to slow progress amid supply shortages and permitting delays.

Many families still lack stable housing and are being supported by FEMA transitional sheltering assistance, though the long-term path to permanent homes remains uncertain for hundreds of displaced residents.

Supporting Families in Need

We are supporting the Sequeira and Delatori families who face constant relocation with their children. Every dollar helps provide stability during an incredibly difficult time.

Fundraising efforts are also directed toward Kamehameha Schools Maui K-12 students, helping them continue their education despite the devastation. We are raising funds for college application fees for graduating seniors so they can pursue their futures without additional financial burden.

About David "Kawika"

David "Kawika" is a native Maui resident from Lahaina and Pukalani. He attended Sacred Hearts School, growing up immersed in the culture and community of the island.

His parents were Beverly, a beloved teacher, and George, a restaurant operator who instilled in Kawika a lifelong passion for Hawaiian food and hospitality. That spirit lives on at Bamboo Grove Hawaiian Grille.

2024 Fundraiser

Saturday, August 17th, 2024 we held our second fundraiser. We raised thousands of dollars despite stormy weather that tested everyone's resolve but not their generosity.

Half of the proceeds support Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice employees who were displaced by the fires. The other half supports 4 generations of Sequeria Families who collectively lost 7 homes in the Lahaina wildfire.
